Duties

  • Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
  • Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
  • Drive route-specific deliveries while adhering to schedules, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory checks and yard organization.

Skills

  • Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery across diverse routes.
  • Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
  • Strong knowledge of route planning, load securement, and safety protocols for commercial driving.
  • Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or manual techniques while maintaining safety standards.
  • Excellent driving record with experience in tractor-trailer operations including freight handling on different truck configurations like tanker or flatbed.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for commercial drivers and truck safety inspections.
