As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our Construction Engineering and Inspection team while leading complex and routine inspections on projects including highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Essential Functions
- Provide construction management support, including inspection, testing, and monitoring of construction ensure compliance with contract documents
- Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
- Manage and mentor the activities of other inspectors
- Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
- Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
- Recordkeeping, materials testing, and reporting as required
- Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers
Required Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ten years of experience in roadway and bridge construction
- Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
- Ability to mentor, coordinate, and supervise inspection personnel in the field
- Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
- Travel to job sites is expected, clean driving record
- Experience with MS Office, SiteManager, and mobile devices
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Skilled in both roadway and bridge construction
- Survey experience
- Required TDOT certifications
