Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers. MCA has an opening for a long-term middle school math substitute teacher starting in mid-February.

Essential Duties

  • Prepares course objectives and lesson plans, following curriculum guidelines and any requirements or standards of the state and school
  • Lectures, demonstrates and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to class
  • Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations
  • Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results
  • Maintains order inside the classroom and other spaces on campus, as well as off-site school-sponsored activities
  • Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise
  • Communicate students' academic progress and behavior with parents
  • Keeps attendance and grade records as required by MCA
  • Completes non-standard information requests for ISP Students (upper school only)

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university

Desired License: Minnesota teaching license
