This Position:

The Warehouse Manager will serve as one of the key support roles to the Plant Manager, ensuring that demand is balanced with capacity across all shifts. This role is critical to maximizing production efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that customer orders are met on time.

Warehouse, Shipping & Receiving Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse, Shipping & Receiving Manager, oversees all operations associated with receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished goods. This role ensures efficient material flow through the facility while maintaining world-class warehouse standards for safety, accuracy, inventory control, customer service, and operational excellence.
The Manager leads warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-handling personnel; owns critical performance metrics; and collaborates closely with production, purchasing, sales, customer service, logistics, and planning teams. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory, supporting production schedules, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse, Shipping & Receiving Operations
  • Lead daily operations including receiving, storing, picking, staging, packing, and shipping of materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are processed correctly, documented accurately, and shipped on time according to CPM standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain optimal warehouse layout, storage methods, and material flow processes to maximize space and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate packaging, labeling, and documentation for all domestic and international shipments.
  • Coordinate with carriers, third-party logistics partners, and internal departments to resolve freight delays, discrepancies, and scheduling issues.
  • Manage warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, racking, dock equipment, scanners, and ensure proper maintenance and compliance.
Inventory Management & Material Flow
  • Own the cycle count program, including variance reconciliation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain real-time accuracy of inventory in ERP/MRP/WMS systems.
  • Ensure timely material availability to support production schedules and customer order fulfillment.
  • Continuously improve inventory accuracy, dock-to-stock time, and material replenishment processes.
  • Support SIOP processes by providing accurate data and aligning material flow with production plans.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop warehouse, shipping, and receiving team members.
  • Plan and adjust manpower based on workload, including overtime management.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
  • Promote CPM values through strong leadership presence on the floor and consistent communication.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
  • Own the warehouse safety program, including OSHA compliance, safety training, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and drive safety improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including hazardous materials handling, DOT rules, and international shipping/export compliance.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and 5S-compliant warehouse areas.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Practices
  • Use Lean, 5S, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize warehouse processes.
  • Identify waste, constraints, and bottlenecks; develop and implement action plans to improve throughput and reduce costs.
  • Support system upgrades and enhancements (ERP/MRP/WMS) by developing standardized work, training materials, and processing documentation.
Reporting, KPIs & Cost Management
  • Own and report key warehouse KPIs, including:
    • On-time shipment performance
    • Receiving accuracy
    • Inventory accuracy
    • Dock-to-stock time
    • Labor efficiency metrics
  • Monitor warehouse expenses, freight costs, supplies, and equipment budgets.
  • Provide regular reports to management on productivity, operational performance, and improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of warehouse management or logistics leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP/MRP platforms, and inventory control best practices.
  • Proven experience supervising and developing warehouse staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage carriers, freight partners, and shipping compliance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Lean/CI, 5S, or process-improvement tools is highly preferred.
  • Forklift and OSHA safety certifications are preferred.
