Your Impact

  • Master the Science: Execute decontamination, preparation, assembly, sterilization, and distribution following gold-standard protocols (HSPA, CBSPD, AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission)
  • Lead by Example: Serve as a preceptor and go-to resource for team members, elevating department expertise
  • Drive Innovation: Champion process improvements and quality initiatives that enhance efficiency, safety, and patient outcomes
  • Ensure Perfection: Meticulously organize surgical trays, manage inventory, and maintain rigorous documentation
  • Safeguard Safety: Handle biohazardous materials and sharp instruments according to strict hospital protocols

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One of the following:
  • Certificate of completion from an Accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology Program, OR
  • 2 years of work-related experience in sterile processing (in lieu of certificate program)

Certification Requirement:

  • If not currently certified, you must obtain certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution (SPD) from HSPA (formerly known as IAHCSMM) or CBSPD within 6 months of hire
  • If already certified, you must hold one of the following:
  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician, OR
  • Certified Operating Room Technician

Your Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of sterilization procedures, equipment, and surgical instrumentation
  • Skilled in operating autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilization monitoring systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail—you catch what others miss
  • Natural mentor who builds strong collaborative relationships
  • Comfortable with technology and basic computer systems
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy
