Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Food Safety and Quality Assurance Associate to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with applicable food safety, regulatory, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will support product documentation, supplier approval, change management, and regulatory inquiries while working closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, logistics, and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure food products comply with all applicable federal, state, and international regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting the food industry and communicate relevant updates to internal teams.
  • Communicate with vendors to collect and assess technical documentation.
  • Maintain digital filing and tracking systems to ensure documents, including regulatory and quality records, including specifications, SOPs, and certifications,

are current and accessible.

  • Support product registration and regulatory submissions.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality programs (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of QA/QC procedures and results.
  • Review customer feedback and identify food safety topics and quality trends .
  • Document findings and corrective actions in complaint reports.
  • Ensure timely closure of complaints in accordance with internal SOPs and regulatory timelines.
  • Communicate outcomes to stakeholders, including customers if required.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Remote Work Qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.
Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in food regulatory, quality assurance, or compliance
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA (21 CFR), FSMA, GFSI, Codex Alimentarius, etc.
  • Certification in HACCP, PCQI, or other food safety programs.
  • Experience with third-party certifications (e.g., SQF, BRC, Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher).
Education

This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or QMS platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
