Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Welding Inspector and Non-Destructive Testing Technician to join our quality assurance team. This role involves ensuring the integrity and safety of welded components and assemblies in accordance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in non-destructive testing methods, and a thorough understanding of ASME codes & standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes through meticulous inspection, data collection, and analysis. The role is essential for maintaining compliance with quality control and assurance protocols across various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of welds and fabricated components using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and schematics to verify adherence to specifications.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, or radiographic testing to detect flaws or defects in materials and welds.
  • Ensure all welding activities comply with ASME codes & standards and industry best practices.
  • Collect, document, and analyze inspection data accurately for quality control records and reporting purposes.
  • Review fabrication drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation to verify correct assembly and welding procedures.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to identify potential quality issues early and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in training team members on quality inspection procedures and NDT techniques as needed.
  • Maintain detailed inspection reports and ensure traceability of all testing activities for compliance audits.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) from a recognized authority such as AWS.
  • Proven experience with non-destructive testing methods including ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, or radiographic testing.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication.
  • Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in schematics, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, soldering equipment, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Experience in quality control and quality assurance within manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Excellent analysis skills for interpreting test results and inspection data accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail while maintaining safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills for documenting findings clearly and collaborating with engineering teams. This position is integral to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance within our manufacturing operations. Pay: $90, $115,000.00 per year
