Job Title: Senior ASIC Design Architect – RISC-V SoC

Location: Baltimore, MD

Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

They are seeking an experienced ASIC Design Architect to lead the design and fabrication of a secure RISC-V Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) SoC — a cornerstone for defense and commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead for a cross-functional team (hardware, verification, and software engineers).
  • Define, design, simulate, fabricate, and iterate RISC-V based ASIC SoC products.
  • Own the ASIC design lifecycle — from RTL finalization to synthesis, place-and-route, and verification.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with pilot customers, internal teams, and external vendors.
  • Develop and maintain detailed microarchitecture specifications and ASIC documentation.
  • Lead verification strategy, ensuring coverage for functional and performance validation.
  • Evaluate and integrate new ASIC design technologies and methodologies.
  • Manage and prioritize product roadmap features aligned with market needs.
  • Identify and collaborate with strategic partners to support development and production.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in ASIC design and architecture.
  • Proven experience designing and fabricating ASICs (end-to-end).
  • Strong proficiency in RTL coding (Verilog or VHDL), ASIC design flow, and EDA tools.
  • Expertise in processor architectures and RISC-V-based SoC designs.
  • Solid understanding of digital logic design, clocking, and low-power methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ASIC verification methodologies (UVM, SystemVerilog).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and hands-on technical leadership.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $200, $300,000.00 per year
