Duties

  • Lead and facilitate engaging afterschool classes, birthday parties, and special events that promote creativity, teamwork, and learning.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Prepare materials and set up activity stations tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
  • Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians about children's progress, activities, and any concerns that arise during events or classes.
  • Support children with diverse needs by applying principles of special education and childhood development to foster inclusive participation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas before and after each session or event.

Skills

  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate children and maintain order during activities.
  • Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
  • Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively in a group setting.
  • First aid certification or willingness to obtain training prior to employment for emergency response preparedness.
  • Experience with sports coaching, theater arts, or babysitting is a plus for creating dynamic activities.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members professionally.
  • Compassionate approach rooted in understanding child psychology and developmental needs; experience with special education or Christian counseling is advantageous.
