Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at Comprehensive Spine and Pain Physicians

A busy pain management practice located in Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena seeking to add a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to our team. The position is full-time with a schedule of 4-5 days per week. The on-call will be on a rotating basis with coverage being 1:5. We are interested in applicants preferably with pain management and/or orthopedic experience, as well as recent graduates with demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow with the company.
Job duties include conducting patient assessments, ordering or providing treatment, and providing patient education. The clinician will assess patient self-administration of pain medications including performing CURES checks, and urine drug test screening. He/she will write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with practice's policies and procedures. They will also be trained to perform minor procedures, such as joint injections, trigger point injections and minor peripheral nerve blocks. The physician assistant will provide complete and timely clinical documentation in the company's EHR system.
Applicants should possess the following:
- A current physician assistant or Nurse Practitioner license from the State of California
- Current DEA license
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Current BLS/ACLS
- 1 year of pain management experience preferred (but not required)
- Bilingual in Spanish/Armenian preferred, not required
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work well with staff at all levels of the organization
Initially, this will be a part time job (less than 30 hours/week) which will transition to full time position after 3 to 6 months of employment.
Compensation will depend on experience and will include medical, dental, vision, and 401(K) benefits.
