Overview

The Sr. Accounts Payable Representative supports the accounts payable processes. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining the accounts payable ledger, and assisting with financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and log vendor invoices. Ensure invoices match purchase orders and contracts.
  • Update and maintain accounts payable ledger, ensuring all financial data is accurate and current.
  • Assist in preparing payment runs, ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure all financial records are filed correctly.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to accounts payable processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve invoice queries and discrepancies. Communicate with internal departments regarding payment approvals.
  • Assist in generating financial statements and reports related to accounts payable.
  • Provide general support to the finance team as required, including assisting with month-end closing.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, ability to handle high volume of transactions, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to interact professionally with vendors and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with accounting software is preferred.
  • Work within an accounts payable team, often collaborating with colleagues from various departments.
