Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise in physiotherapy and knowledge of anatomy and physiology will be essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Duties

  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
  • Utilize trigger point therapy techniques to relieve muscle tension and improve mobility.
  • Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately.
  • Educate patients and their families about care plans, exercises, and home health strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients moving from one level of care to another.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment while adhering to all safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential.
  • Experience in physiotherapy, particularly in acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, or outpatient settings is preferred.
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing facilities or home health environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles and discharge planning processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
