The primary purpose of your job positions are to 1) plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Housekeeping & Laundry Departments in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator or Director of Nursing, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, and 2) complete regular ordering and stock of facility as established by direct report supervisors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism when circumstances warrant such actions
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Must be knowledgeable in computers, data retrieval, input and output functions, etc.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Housekeeping & Laundry Department
  • Must possess the ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
  • Must possess the ability to display patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • Must be able to complete all other tasks as assigned by the Administrator, Director of Nursing, or designee
