Summary:
The Payroll Partner is responsible for the accurate and timely payroll processing, submission, reporting, and auditing for salary and hourly employees while ensuring compliance with company policies as well as Federal, State, Local and IRS regulations. Maintains a high standard of quality and accuracy by being proactive in managing the payroll cycle to meet all payroll deadlines. Provides excellent customer service and works closely and collaboratively with HR and other cross-functional departments.
What You'll Do:
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely employee payments.
- Partner with Finance to research discrepancies within payroll postings to the general ledger and reconcile data in alignment.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding payroll inquiries, providing clear guidance and education on payroll processes and timelines and policies. Manage and resolve complex payroll inquiries from employees and be able to explain payroll from a gross to net perspective for within assigned region.
- Stay current with payroll regulations and labor laws to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments for operational and financial review.
- Maintain expertise in payroll software and systems to ensure efficient processing and reporting.
- Support payroll-related projects and initiatives as needed.
- Partner with the Payroll Manager to conduct periodic internal audits of payroll processes and identify areas for improvement
- Confirm accuracy of garnishment processing and compliance with legislation.
- Execute standard work for managing overpayments/repayments with stakeholder communication with regional policy.
- Validate and prepare, as needed, standard work for defined payroll processes under the regional payroll manager's responsibility.
- Identify gaps and seek opportunities for continuous payroll process improvement.
- Escalate payroll related issues, seek advice when faced with complex issues/problems and propose reasonable solutions.
- Execute payroll transactions into payroll applications ensuring accurate and timely entry.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of UKG Pro and WFM and processing payroll.
- Support daily visual management to easily identify areas for improvement, control limits and adding additional opportunities for measurements to increase optimization.
- Calculate termination and deceased wage payments compliant with state legislations.
- Monitor, support employee escalations and inquiries.
- Ability to run standard and create ad hoc reports.
- Tax data management including Tax registrations, researching penalty notices and managing correspondence with various taxing agencies.
- Partner with Sr. Manager Payroll on Payroll taxes across local, state and federal jurisdictions for quarterly and yearly tax filings.
- ACH preparation and payroll simulations as needed for termination pay, or pro-forma calculations.

- Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred, with a strong understanding of payroll and payroll taxes.
- Minimum (3) years' experience in payroll shared service models preferably using UKG Pro and WFM or other related payroll systems.
- Must be proficient with MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
Compensation & Benefits Information:
- Salary Range: $64,700 - $92,378
- Bonus Eligible
