About The Role
We are seeking gifted, full-stack software engineers to help support and grow our financial platform offerings. This is a significant opportunity to be a founding member of a growing team and help shape the way we develop, deploy, and operate production quality systems. We're just getting started creating our platform, so you'll have the ability to be involved designing and building from the ground up. We anticipate using technologies like NextJS with GraphQL/Relay on the frontend and having a backend composed of languages like Elixir/Phoenix, Go, Python, and NodeJS. Our core systems store data in PostgreSQL. We deploy on Google Cloud, provisioned through Terraform.

What You'll Do

• Leverage TypeScript+React, Relay, and GraphQL to build beautiful user interfaces and experiences.
• Expand and maintain our backend services (a mix of Elixir/Phoenix, Go, Python, and NodeJS) running on cloud-based serverless technologies
• Create and refine automated AI agent systems written in Python
• Support existing products and features, while helping design and build new ones.
• Collaborate regularly with other stakeholders and partners to solicit requirements, seek feedback and provide updates.

Qualifications
Candidates do not need prior experience with any specific technology - we are looking for candidates who are excited to learn new frameworks. That said, a strong understanding of Javascript and modern browser technology and experience building for the web (HTTP, how cookies work, CSP, CORS, etc) is needed.

• Experience building full stack web applications (ideally for at least 10 years, given the seniority of the position)
• Strong understanding of modern browser technology and experience building for the web (HTTP, how cookies work, CSP, CORS, etc)
• Strong relational database fundamentals
• Demonstrable proficiency and a track record of professional success coding in at least two programming languages
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoy working in a collaborative environment where engineers are expected not only to build great technology, but also to define project vision, specify technical strategy, and always be learning
• Experience presenting to audiences and communicating effectively and empathetically with clients and other stakeholders

Strong preference will be given to candidates who have experience:

• Quickly learning new languages, frameworks, and technologies (including best practices)
• With relational databases (and SQL) and query optimization
• As a technical leader (team lead or management experience)
• Deploying on and configuring Amazon Web Services and/or Google Cloud
• Writing production-ready code in Elixir, TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, or Ruby
• Developing AI agents and utilizing LLMs for automation

Compensation / Benefits
In addition to a salary range of $180k – $220k for this position, we provide equity grants as well as a competitive benefits package (health insurance, dental insurance, vision coverage, home office setup, unlimited paid leave, 401k starting in 2026, and more).

This is a role initially based in New York, NY with the possibility of becoming a remote role. We are not able to provide relocation reimbursement or provide visa sponsorship at this time.

The Pay Range For This Role Is
