Location: Fifth Third Arena – Chicago Blackhawks Community Ice Rink

Position Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Primarily evenings and weekends

Fifth Third Arena, the official practice facility of the Chicago Blackhawks, is seeking reliable individuals to join our team as Youth and Adult League Scorekeepers. This position reports directly to the Hockey Program Manager and is responsible for operating the scoreboard, tracking and recording goals, shots, and penalties on paper or online scoresheets during league games. Scorekeepers will also utilize a supplied tablet to track stats and upload results online after each game.

This role interacts regularly with parents, players, coaches, referees, hockey directors, team captains, and guests. Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering a world-class hockey and skating experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate the control board for the scoreboard
• Communicate with on-ice officials to start, operate, and record the game
• Maintain a legible, concise, and accurate scoresheet
• Provide accurate stats to the league statistician
• Check players in by number and/or name on the score sheet
• Track goals, assists, penalties, shots, and other game statistics
• Operate the time clock and ensure accurate game scoring
• Confirm rosters and prepare game sheets prior to puck drop
• Ensure smooth game flow and communicate with referees and league staff
• Report any incidents, injuries, or concerns to league management
• Provide excellent customer service to players, officials, and visitors

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hockey rules and game flow required
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
• Comfortable using a scoreboard, tablet, or stat-tracking system (training provided)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Prior scorekeeping experience is a plus but not required
