Position Overview

The HVAC Project Manager will be one of two managers in the company, so you always have someone to bounce ideas off of and support each other. You will oversee installation crews, ensure designs are properly implemented, and provide technical guidance on each job. This person will be responsible for reviewing plans, creating layouts, and ensuring that systems meet load requirements using Manual J & D.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support HVAC installation crews to ensure jobs are completed on schedule and to quality standards.
  • Perform HVAC takeoffs and layouts from blueprints and construction documents.
  • Size ductwork and design distribution systems for custom and tract style residential homes.
  • Complete load calculations and duct designs using Manual J & Manual D software.
  • Coordinate with builders, superintendents, and internal teams to resolve field issues.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, energy efficiency standards, and company procedures.
  • Perform site visits to check progress, quality, and accuracy of work.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of residential HVAC experience (installation, project management, or supervision).
  • Proficiency with Manual J & D software.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, and building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing crews in the field.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in residential new construction with production and/or custom builders.
  • NATE certification or HVAC license (a plus).
