We are seeking an expert Technical Designer to manage the technical aspects of a hard home category

You will be responsible for overseeing the entire product journey, from design development prototypes to final approval for production. This pivotal role requires you to lead spec meetings in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring all product specifications are approved with a meticulous focus on design aesthetics, quality, and value. Success demands the ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal colleagues and external counterparts to ensure a seamless and high-quality path to market.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborates with lead Sr. TD Designer and Product Team to develop technical specifications based on design concept.
  • Works with agents/vendors to ensure all products' specification meets company standards and brand values.
  • Reviews and implements design changes and makes contingency plans as necessary.
  • Coordinates spec schedule with PD/Design Team.
  • Leads fit sessions with cross-functional teams and provides recommendations on how to improve fit, construction, and quality of garment, keeping company's standards and regulation at top of mind.
  • Communicates technical fit comments to agents/vendors via written comments, visual images, construction sketches, provides correct grading, pattern adjustments.
  • Approves fits/PP and TOP specification for bulk production.
  • Maintains correspondence with internal teams and overseas vendors.
  • Tracks, manages and prioritizes workload to help team meet development and production deadlines.
  • Assist Sr. TD/TD Manager to establish quality control standards and general daily tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in fashion, technical design, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of garment construction.
  • Knowledge and experience with patternmaking, preferred.
  • 3+ years experience.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Word/Excel, Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of 3D system and Flex PLM, preferred.
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • Self-motivated teammate with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Able to adapt to a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Deadline driven and committed to quality.
