The Licensure and Renewal section is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The candidate selected for this position should be ready to lead by example and serve as a vital member in the Bureau of Operations, Licensure Support Services Unit.

Our team provides courteous, professional answers to emails and chats in accordance with Department policy and Florida Statutes and Rules for Healthcare Practitioners. We perform detail research, review system generated reports, and handle complex inquires to determine eligibility for registration, certification, or licensure.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

The incumbent selected for this position, exercises independent and professional judgment, including providing referrals as appropriate; deals with licensees, applicants, and consumers by responding to incoming emails and chats from healthcare practitioners in a courteous and professional manner, access' and responds to customer's inquiries and provides accurate written responses in accordance with Department policy as well as Florida Statutes and Rules; and maintains effective working relationships.

This position acts as communications liaison to research and provide problem resolution for all matters of license maintenance. This requires a strong ability to communicate verbal and written correspondence via email, chats, and telephone. Incumbent advises licensees or applicants of license/application status and/or provides user-id and passwords for online services system. Incumbent also aids consumers, licensed healthcare practitioners, and establishments regarding their licensure records and performs updates and/or revisions on an ongoing basis.

This position performs detailed research, reviews system generated reports and handles complex inquiries to determine avenues and eligibility for registration, certification, or licensure. Evaluates and advises' customers of qualifications for renewal and/or licensure as well as posts licensure criteria in accordance with laws and rules.

Coordinates correction of deficiencies found during renewal review. 

Performs comprehensive database testing to ensure renewal transactions function in accordance with laws and rules that govern specific professions.

Reviews customer inquiries utilizing the department systems to include intranet and/or internet sites to provide responses to customer inquiries and completes accurate written email responses.

Performs other duties as assigned.
