GENERAL FUNCTION

Reporting to the Director, Frame Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for the daily operations at the center. Initially, your activities will focus on storing frame traces in Optifacts, as well as comparing the data in Globe and Optifacts against the physical inspection of each frame. Once you've fully learned that part of the job, your duties will expand to include troubleshooting live WIP jobs across the network and frame codification in Globe. This is complex, detailed work and we expect you'll get through approximately 20 per day.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Turning on, calibrating and preparing systems and equipment for each day's activities
  • Receiving frames in from the distribution center
  • Physically inspecting each frame for damage, then sorting by material, model and size
  • Compare physical inspection against Optifacts and Globe data to ensure all data points are accurate and complete
  • Submitting the next block of frame orders to Frame Customer Service
  • Tracing frames and storing the trace in Optifacts
  • Reassembling frames to original condition (prepare for sale)
  • Submitting breakage through a standardized process
  • Submitting Return Authorization to Frame Customer Service for completed block of frames
  • Documenting and keeping current processes, procedures and protocols in standardized SOP format
  • Reporting on progress daily/weekly in a structured manner
  • Maintaining security of frames in FCE room
  • Shutting down and cleaning up FCE area

This is an in-office role in Lewisville, TX.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be a good fit for the job of Quality Technician, you will have:

  • Significant experience in a production environment, preferably in an ophthalmic lab and/or the coating field
  • Highly detail-oriented and tech-savvy with proven analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work alone while maintaining strict adherence to protocols, process control and expected throughput
  • Strong PC computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite applications (e.g., Word, Excel, including VLOOKUP, and PowerPoint); strong data entry skills and comfort moving between multiple systems
  • Disciplined and methodical in your approach to solving problems; effective business judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the desire, attention to detail and accuracy to document specifications and other data for future use
  • Well-organized with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical background strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of processes and workflows of Ophthalmic lens lab manufacturing operations strongly preferred
  • Optifacts or other Lab Management System experience preferred
