Job Summary – Environmental Compliance Specialist
Compass Land Group is a small specialty firm providing permitting, environmental, and operational support to the mining, construction and land development sectors. Compass is seeking a qualified and motivated environmental compliance specialist to support our public and private clients. Job Description
· Provide land use and regulatory permitting support, including application preparation, environmental review, and agency coordination.
· Provide environmental permitting and compliance support, including field sampling, agency reporting, and site inspections.
· Provide project coordination support for a variety of construction and reclamation projects.
· Research rules and regulations relating to permitting and environmental compliance.
· Assist with preparing GIS-based maps and graphics using ArcGIS in support of land use, environmental, and construction-related projects.
· Provide field data collection services, including bathymetry drone, aerial photography drone, and GPS data collection.
· Collecting, post-processing and utilizing GPS data (e.g., Trimble or Emlid GPS data collection) to create maps and summary reports.
· Coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and agencies.
· Install and troubleshoot systems, software and programs.
· Assist with keeping the office organized and well-stocked.
Required Work Experience, Skills, and Education
· Bachelor's degree.
· 2+ years of experience in a construction, mining, permitting, or environmental services is strongly preferred.
· Working experience with GIS-based software and GPS devices and field data collection is preferred (applicants without this experience will be expected to learn).
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
· A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and interest in subject matter is essential.
· Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Benefits and Compensation
We offer an attractive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, SEP IRA retirement contribution (currently set at 25% of salary at no cost to employee), vacation and sick time.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
Bonuses: Bonuses are discretionary and based on performance.
