Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
  • Handle cash accurately, perform cash handling procedures, and balance registers at shift end.
  • Assist customers with product demos and upselling to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales.
  • Maintain organized merchandise displays through effective merchandising and stocking practices to attract customers.
  • Manage inventory by receiving new items, tagging products appropriately, and ensuring accurate stock levels.
  • Conduct regular product demos to showcase featured items or new arrivals to boost sales.
  • Monitor store cleanliness and organization, including tidying shelves and ensuring aisles are clear for safety.
  • Engage in phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
  • Support supervising staff by providing guidance on store procedures and customer interactions when needed.
  • Assist with grocery-like store operations such as managing checkout lines during busy periods.
  • Participate in product knowledge sessions to stay informed about merchandise features and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse community needs better.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, pricing adjustments, and inventory counts.
  • Familiarity with POS systems or willingness to learn new technology quickly.
  • Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell products naturally without pressure on customers.
  • Experience in merchandising, stocking shelves, or retail sales environments such as grocery stores is advantageous.
  • Supervising experience is a plus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued.
