As the IT Senior Technical Specialist, you will be a leader and play a key role in working directly with external customers and interface with other internal and external support teams and vendors. This hybrid position offers a balanced schedule of a minimum of three in-office days at an assigned location to be either Burlington or Durham, NC, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, test, deploy, administer and monitor IBM Datapower and APIC v2018/V10. Including but not limited to creating users, groups and roles, and security configurations such as Single Sign On and Secure Socket Layer (within application and for interaction with external database).
  • Monitor the health of the IBM Integration technologies including App connect, API Connect environment to ensure performance and availability SLAs are met.
  • Be a leader and play SME role in incident resolution calls when needed to assist root cause analysis of issues.
  • Configure and implement backup and restoration of IBM APIC subsystems.
  • Backup and restore IBM API Connect configuration data.
  • Backup and restore onboarded APIs in our tech stack.
  • Analyze logs to identify problems within the IBM API Connect environment.
  • Maintain a DevOps pipeline for building and deploying OpenAPI specification documents.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in how to build middleware API proxies using IBM API Connect designer to API developers.
  • Create reusable OpenAPI Specification templates.
  • Use the API Management Portal to manage the lifecycle of APIs across multiple API Catalogs.
  • Make IBM API Connect Developer Portal changes using the administrative menus to affect the portal configuration as well as perform some look and feel content changes.
  • Configure the security of the IBM API Connect product using TLS Profiles and other mechanisms to ensure a secure operating environment.
  • Review customer's hardening requirements imposed on IBM API Connect environment, and liaise with IBM Technical Support, Technical Sales, and/or IBM Product Security on mitigation or justification for waiver as required.
  • Apply product maintenance releases, upgrades and patches as required.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis, with remote support from IBM Technical Support.
  • Deliver technical architecture related information, support technical discovery sessions, assist architect/ team lead as required, and respond to architecture, infrastructure, and security questions as required.
  • Support functional discovery sessions, and respond to functional questions as required.
  • Communicate recommendations regarding hardware specifications, networking requirements, and storage sizing to stakeholders.
  • Interact with IBM Technical Support and IBM Technical Sales as required to verify, discuss and close issues or questions that arise.
  • Provide pre- and post-implementation documentation, including but not limited to interface specifications, requirements and design documentation, configuration documentation, user manuals, user guides
  • Plan, design, support and record integration testing findings with external database or other software as required.Engineer application implementations based on requirements and sizing assessments.
  • Diagnose, document, report, and resolve system and application problems, including performance and SLA of application.
  • Work directly with external customers and interface with other internal and external support teams and vendors.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with internal and external stakeholders highlighting any risks or blockers with recommendations to remediate and work around identified issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology (willing to accept foreign education equivalent, including 3-year degree) OR 10+ years of experience providing support for different technologies, including on-call support and SDLC support.
  • Must possess the following: developing solutions to automate configuration management and maintenance of infrastructure platforms using Bash, XSLT or other scripting tools
  • Orchestration (2 years); planning, implementing, supporting and managing Cloud solutions and technologies, using AIX, Windows, Linux, and/or Solaris (2 years); configuring SSL security and certificates for  implement certificates as well as renewal and troubleshooting; installing, configuring and managing technologies, including WebMethods, IBM MQSeries, and WebSphere integration bus; designing solutions and implementing integration infrastructure on Linux or AIX platforms, using at least two of the following: IBM MQ, Active MQ, Kafka, etc., Wesbphere, API/App/Event streams  
  • Designing and developing automation or scripting using Shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, or Java.
  • Monitoring experience ideally using Dynatrace, Datadog preferred.

  • Current or previous Labcorp experience preferred.
