We are seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Specialist to join our dynamic Behavioral Health team. In this role, you will provide hands-on, age-appropriate care for patients in our inpatient psychiatric unit, helping them with activities of daily living (ADLs) while ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment.

As a member of the Division of Patient Care Services, you will be integral to fostering an atmosphere that promotes optimal outcomes for patients facing mental health challenges, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, substance abuse, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive AM/PM care for patients, including assistance with bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, and bed making.
• Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, providing pillows/blankets, and keeping water pitchers full.
• Encourage patient independence where possible, offering support for ADLs while promoting autonomy.
• Assist with patient turning, positioning, and mobility, using proper body mechanics to maintain safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized patient environment.
• Monitor and observe patients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any significant changes to the care team.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Experience: 1-3 years in a healthcare or psychiatric setting (preferred)
• Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (preferred)
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License (required, or eligibility to obtain Maryland CNA license)
