Job Title: Senior Laboratory Analyst

Location: Milford, CT

Position: Full-Time, Salary. On location 100%.

Reports to: Laboratory Manager

Position Summary: Develop new and improve existing analytical procedures. Perform analysis by various testing techniques, including but not limited to wet chemistry, chromatography (GC, HPLC, IC), spectroscopy (ICP, UV-Vis, FTIR), microbiology (SPC, Coliform) and microscopy (Optical, SEM). Input data into method control charts and recommend improvements. Develop and write work instructions in support of the Quality Management System. Write customer test reports.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all established Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.

• Work with a variety of instruments including ICP, IC, Karl Fisher, SEM/EDS, UV-vis, HACH and microscopes.

• Read, understand, and interpret analytical procedures.

• Operate required analytical instrumentation, document work clearly, and perform all tests accurately.

• Follow detailed chemical and microbiological methods for State Environmental testing with high reproducibility.

• Summarize laboratory results, input analytical data in company's logs, prepare comprehensive customer reports.

• Monitor the condition of equipment and work areas.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Report any analytical procedure, instrumentation, or work area problems to supervisor.

• Report any unusual analytical test results to supervisor.

• Enter customer samples into laboratory data base.

• Draft and review reports.

• Monitor and perform routine equipment calibration and gauge R&R studies.

• Produce and maintain calibration records.

• Perform statistical analyses of processes to meet quality control standards.

• Participate in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

• Performs periodic analyses on company's analytical services data.

• All other duties as assigned by supervisor and company owner.

Skills/Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology or related Engineering fields.

• 3-5 years or more laboratory experience.

• Ability to comprehend and follow analytical procedures, operate analytical instrumentation, and instrument-specific data systems.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Laboratory Analyst based in Milford, CT. The Senior Laboratory Analyst will conduct routine and specialized tests, operate and maintain laboratory equipment, review data for quality control purposes, and provide insights to support product and process development. Responsibilities also include calibration of instruments and ensuring compliance with laboratory best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong Analytical Skills for interpreting data and identifying patterns
• Proficiency with Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Skills
• Experience in Quality Control processes
• Knowledge of Calibration techniques for laboratory instruments
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow protocols and procedures
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field; advanced degree is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
• Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a senior role
