Position Overview: Service Sales HVAC Technician

We are seeking a skilled and customer focused HVAC Service Sales Technician who is passionate about providing top quality service and helping customers improve their comfort systems through professional recommendations and equipment sales. The ideal candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and/or light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, while also identifying and presenting system upgrades, maintenance plans, and energy-efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Service & Maintenance:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation, etc.).
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and system inspections.
  • Ensure all repairs and installations meet code and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders using mobile application.

Sales & Customer Relations:

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding findings, repair options, and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements, replacements, and accessories (e.g., air quality products, smart thermostats, maintenance agreements).
  • Provide estimates and close sales on recommended products or services.
  • Meet or exceed monthly service and sales goals while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Teamwork & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with dispatchers, installers, and office staff to ensure smooth project completion.
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Stay current on industry trends, new products, and technology through ongoing training.

Qualifications:

  • EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on HVAC service experience.
  • Proven ability to upsell products or services and close customer sales.
  • Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • NATE certification or equivalent technical credentials.
  • Experience with CRM or field service management software.
  • Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC solutions and indoor air quality systems.
