Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist

Sese Industrial is a greenfield operation that has an immediate opening for a Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist. This person will be responsible for health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance. This will include assessment and implementation of absent programs and the continued oversight and administration of existing programs. This position will interface with all departments to ensure existing processes and special projects follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations. The HS&E Specialist implements and maintains an environmental health and safety program involving hazard identification evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, hazardous material/waste management, emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
POSITION RESPONSABILITIES
- Provides HSE leadership, training, and operational support to all levels of the organization and across all functional groups.
- Ensures all HSE processes and procedures are implemented and standardized across the manufacturing facility.
- Tracks company health and safety metrics and use the data to identify and to reduce risk.
- Facilitate the safety team meetings.
- Administer Near Miss Program and assign action items, as necessary.
- Works closely with Engineering and Facilities on special projects involving plant construction, equipment design, and hazardous assessments.
- Provide information to management about recommendations for process improvements and decision proposals.
- Assists in all aspects of incident investigation including verifying root cause and approving the implementation of preventative actions.
- Ensures emergency response systems, policies and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations.
- Maintains all Federal, State, and Local permits in current and valid condition.
- Provides hazardous material/right to know training and MSD management.
- Performs industrial hygiene activities including chemical monitoring, ozone monitoring, and any other monitoring programs, as necessary.
- Prepares regulatory agency submissions.
- Maintains current working knowledge of all applicable HSE regulations.
- Manage and create safety related documents, policies, and procedures for Company in compliance with regulatory agencies, e.g., OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS or BA Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Education, or other related fields with 3+ year's related experience in an HSE leadership role; safety, engineering, or equivalent science degree.
- OSHA 30 certificate
- Health & Safety and Workplace Safety skills
- Experience in Occupational Health and Safety
- Environment Health and Safety (EHS) knowledge
- Strong Safety Training abilities
- Certifications in EHS or related fields
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Experience in the logistics or automotive sector is a plus
Specific Responsibilities associated with the Integrated Management System
- Know and comply with the policies of the Integrated Management System, the guidelines of the Code of Ethics, the rules of occupational risk prevention and the rules of security and protection of information.
- Work following the processes defined in the organization.
- Ensure order and cleanliness in their area of responsibility.
- Make responsible use of resources and raw materials.
- Properly segregate waste using the containers provided for this purpose.
- Ensure their own safety, complying at all times with the safety measures and ORP regulations applicable in each case.
- Use appropriately and responsibly the personal protective equipment required for their position.
- Comply with the measures implemented in the information security risk control and prevention systems.
- Report any conduct that they consider may pose a risk to information security and, in particular, to the security of personal data.
