Summary:
The Flooring Project Manager plays a vital role in delivering exceptional flooring installations for our customers. This position oversees project timelines, monitors on-site progress, tracks product deliveries, and proactively resolves potential issues. The Project Manager also leads pre-installation meetings with installation teams, ensures smooth communication between all parties, and maintains a strong customer experience throughout each project.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Site Management:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all project site conditions through consistent communication with the customer and/or general contractor.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify conditions, identify delays, and ensure readiness for installation.
- Visit high-profile project sites weekly to monitor progress and maintain quality standards.
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive communication to customers regarding project status and milestones.
- Coordinate with the flooring sales team to confirm product delivery schedules align with project timelines.
- Adjust delivery schedules when needed to avoid premature arrivals or unnecessary local storage.
- Issue timely and accurate change orders for delays caused by site unreadiness or customer-related issues.
- Conduct pre-installation meetings with installation teams to review project scope, discuss site-specific details, and identify potential challenges.
Customer Satisfaction Responsibilities:
- Sundown Rule:
Respond to all internal and external inquiries within the same business day (measured by exception). - Zero Sells:
Maintain project-related loss ("zero sells") at or below 0.3% of revenue for assigned projects or accounts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in flooring or related construction trades preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 10–20 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to type reports, drive to customer locations, and communicate effectively via phone and email.
- May be required to work limited overtime, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Valid North Carolina (or other state-issued) driver's license required.
Employment Type:
- Full-time, salaried position averaging 40–45 hours per week.
