Press Operator/ Product Coordinator

Must have experience to be considered for this role. As a Product Coordinator with a focus on Press Operations, you will be the crucial link between customer specifications, the print manufacturing process, and timely product delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Production Liaison: Serve as the primary manufacturing point of contact for Product Management and Customer Service teams regarding print jobs.
  • Technical Interpretation: Translate complex customer specifications, including print, color, and material requirements, into clear, actionable production plans and documentation for the Press teams.
  • Process Optimization: Leverage your press operator experience to identify and troubleshoot potential production bottlenecks, quality issues, and efficiency improvements before and during the production run.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Assist in creating, managing, and communicating detailed production timelines, ensuring job change-overs and runs are executed efficiently and meet customer deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance Support: Work closely with the Quality team, using your technical printing knowledge to quickly analyze product samples, identify print defects (e.g., registration, color matching, print flaws), and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all production paperwork, including production reports, QA reports, and material usage sheets, is accurate and complete, feeding crucial data back to the relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Team Collaboration: Facilitate clear and effective communication between Press Operators, Maintenance, Scheduling, Quality, and Sales/Customer Service to drive successful and on-spec production.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Press Operator in a flexible packaging or industrial printing environment (e.g., Gravure, Flexography).
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of press operation, printing processes, color theory, print quality inspection, and machine setup/troubleshooting.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Further technical training or a degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite) and the ability to learn internal systems for data entry and reporting.
