Job Description: Forklift Operator

WEeare a full-line food processor specializing in cooked deli meat items and prepared foods. Our products are sold in retail stores, service delis, and club stores, and are served in restaurants, schools, food service accounts, and on several airlines. We also process component products for other manufacturers.

Job Overview:

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to move materials and products efficiently within the facility. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and effective operation of forklift trucks, adhering to safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts to move, lift, and stack products and materials within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring accurate inventory handling.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Accurately complete shipping and receiving documents for all materials moved.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining an efficient warehouse layout.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production and shipment deadlines.
Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator certification.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic math skills for inventory management and measurements.
Desired Experience:
  • Previous experience as a forklift operator or in similar roles preferred.
  • Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with food processing and safety standards is advantageous.
