Description
Radiology Ltd., a 500-employee medical imaging organization seeks a full time Medical Records Specialist. This position is located at a site on the East Side of Tucson. Hours are 8 am - 5 pm Monday-Friday
The Medical Records Specialist provides excellent customer service to patients, providers and internal staff.
Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone calls in a polite and professional manner
- Faxes reports to provider offices throughout the day
- Utilizes a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems
- Handles and routes requests for medical records, CDs, film or paper images and/or reports for delivery to referring physicians, clients and patients
- Documents the release of PHI in all appropriate systems
- Analyzes and reviews medical records for completeness and accuracy of documentation according to specified standards
- Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve electronic health information
- Initiates requests for prior images and reports from outside imaging facilities
Experience: We are seeking employees that have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with the following attributes:
- Phone etiquette skills must be exceptional
- Strong multitasking abilities
- Customer Service oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Windows based PC applications including sending and receiving email
- High School or GED required at time of hiring.
- Must be able to pass General Skills Assessment test.
- One to two years medical office experience or related education preferred.
- Prior medical records experience helpful but not required.
