Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible performing varied duties to install, repair, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
Essential Job Duties
- This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands and mental competencies of this job require the employee maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain facility equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of facility as needed and performs scheduled maintenance repairs to avoid disturbing the facility's schedule.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Coordinates the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
- Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test
- Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Employment Clearance Registry and Adult Maltreatment Registry
- An Associates' degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
Mental Demands:
Work requires adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy in observing, recording and reporting data. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information accurately.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
This position is very active and requires constant standing/walking and repetitive motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional carrying. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 75 pounds and the frequency of treatments may vary.
