Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in repairing metal panels by bumping out dents, filling in with body-filler and grinding smoothly.
• Install new body panels by riveting and/or welding.
• Replace miscellaneous body glass, mirrors and repairing floor covering.
• Assist in the overall body and seat repair, preparation for paint and other duties.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on wheelchair lifts and repairs as needed on wheelchair lift systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on passenger doors, door control systems and repairs as needed on door systems.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Other Duties as Assigned

Education / Experiences / Certifications:
• Completion of technical/or vocational training in body/paint courses preferred.
• Experience with Mig, Tig and acetylene torch welding helpful.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in body repair and sheet metal work preferred.
• Experience with hand-held power tools used in the repair of vehicle bodies required.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL Learner's Class B with P endorsement permit before the probationary period ends.
Preference will be given to applicants who currently hold a Valid Virginia CDL Class B License with P endorsement.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude required.

• Position involves a combination of indoor and outdoor working conditions and exposure to safe levels of diesel and cleaning solvent fumes and lubricating oils and grease.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Requires frequent bending and kneeling, with occasional climbing.
