We are seeking a Design Engineer for Product Development to join our engineering team and play a key role in bringing new hydration products to life. The ideal candidate will translate user needs, functional requirements, and aesthetic goals into manufacturable designs that elevate Brio's performance standards and brand identity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop components and assemblies for water dispensers, filtration systems, and related hydration appliances.
- Create 3D models, mechanical layouts, and detailed drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or Fusion 360).
- Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and industrial design teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Conduct tolerance analyses, prototype evaluations, and performance testing to validate design intent.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for tooling, assembly, and cost efficiency.
- Support compliance testing and documentation for NSF, UL, and CE certifications.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Product Design, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical or product design, preferably in consumer appliances or water-related products.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and GD&T standards.
- Strong understanding of injection molding, sheet metal, and plastic part design.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (NSF, UL, FCC, CE) is a plus.
Preferred (Bonus) Skills:
- Experience with IoT-enabled or connected product integration.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, or filtration system design.
- Experience conducting DFMEA or risk-based design evaluations.
- Familiarity with sustainable materials and eco-design principles.
- Exposure to appliance reliability testing and lifecycle validation.
