We are a small custom residential architecture firm seeking an experienced designer to join our team on a part-time, independent contractor basis.

About the Role

You'll take ownership of residential projects starting at the Design Development (DD) phase and carry them through Construction Documents (CDs). This role requires self-motivation, a strong sense of design and technical coordination, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document custom residential projects from DD through CDs
  • Coordinate design intent, detailing, and drafting across all project phases
  • Collaborate remotely with the project team to meet agreed-upon deadlines
  • Participate in field measurement and site verification (Seattle area preferred)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in an architectural firm
  • Proficiency in Revit (required)
  • Experience with Twinmotion and Photoshop for visualization (preferred)
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time

Position Details

  • Type: Part-time, Independent Contractor
  • Hours: Approximately 20–30 hours per week
  • Schedule: Flexible — you choose when and where you work, provided deadlines are met
  • Compensation: Hourly, commensurate with experience
  • Location: Remote; Seattle area candidates strongly preferred for site visits

You'll work collaboratively with our small team, contributing to a creative and efficient design process while maintaining full control over your schedule, taxes, and benefits.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $82, $99,044.45 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
