Function/Duties of Position

The candidate will work in a research capacity under the supervision of Drs. Marguerita Lightfoot, Deborah Karasek, and Sarah Andrea to support a research project on economic well-being among Black emerging adults. Primary responsibilities include assistance with statistical analyses of a longitudinal dataset (including factor analyses and regression analyses), literature review and evidence synthesis, manuscript writing, and grant preparation.

Required Qualifications
  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours).

  • Prior work experience conducting literature reviews and knowledge syntheses, or relevant coursework.

  • Experience conducting descriptive and multivariable quantitative analysis using statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, or SAS) for coursework or research projects.

  • Familiarity with health inequities and the social determinants of health.

  • Familiarity with research design in social epidemiology, employment, the transition from adolescence to adulthood, or mental health.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective time management.

  • Applicable policies, procedures and agreements related to position, department or OHSU as a whole.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with preparing grants for submission to National Institutes of Health or philanthropic funders.

  • Experience conducting factor analysis.

  • Candidates with lived experience relevant to the project topic are encouraged to apply.

  • Demonstrated capacity for scientific writing.

  • Completed CITI training(s) in responsible conduct of research.

Additional Details

This position involves an average of 20 hours of work per week at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health. The candidate will work primarily at the Vanport building 6th floor with opportunities for remote work as needed.
