Job Description
Job title: Polysomnographic Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Polysomnographic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing sleep studies on patients to diagnose sleep disorders. The Polysomnographic Technician will work closely with patients to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the study.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Set up and prepare equipment for sleep studies
- Educate patients on the sleep study process
- Monitor patients during sleep studies and document findings accurately
- Troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise
- Clean and maintain equipment as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret sleep study results
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of sleep disorders and treatment options
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
