POSITION SUMMARY:

The Licensed Therapist in Florida should hold one of the following board licenses: Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. The licensed therapist evaluates and treats mental and emotional health disorders, as well as relationship issues and life challenges, through different forms of psychotherapy. This role involves providing direct therapeutic services to individuals dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Human Services or other related discipline
  • Must have one of the following valid and active License in Mental Health Counseling, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of Florida
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer proficient in EMR and MS Office programs
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required
  • Previous experience in mental health is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and create service plans, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions for adults, children, and families in outpatient, acute care inpatient, or community settings.
  • Document clinical and administrative services accurately and promptly, following program guidelines and external standards (such as the Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.).
  • Meet productivity requirements for the designated program through efficient workflow management.
  • Maintain positive relationships with other internal departments and external agencies, and keep the supervisor informed of all relevant client, program, and community issues.
  • Understand the fundamental principles of Co-Occurring disorders and the connection between mental health and substance abuse.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the client's specific needs based on their age.
  • Provide patient care under program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.) for various populations, including individuals, families, and groups (children, adolescents, and adults).
