You will be the Hardware Engineering Lead - ATWS Program for the Advanced Tactical Weapon Systems (ATWS) team. Our team drives the development, integration, and sustainment of cutting edge Electro Optical/Infrared (EO IR) systems, delivering high performance hardware that powers next generation platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Hardware Engineering Lead you will own the end to end product lifecycle for EO IR hardware, from initial requirements through design, test, and long term sustainment. You will direct a multi disciplinary group of engineers, ensuring technical excellence while balancing budget and schedule constraints across multiple concurrent programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the hardware design and analysis team, setting technical direction and performance targets.

Defining and refining system requirements, translating them into detailed hardware specifications.

Conducting design reviews, trade studies, and technical analyses to validate concepts and mitigate risk.

Overseeing prototype and production testing at the system and sub assembly level, capturing data for continuous improvement.

Managing non conformance MRB disposition, driving corrective actions and root cause resolution.

Coordinating with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to align schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

Preparing and presenting internal and external design/programmatic review materials to senior leadership and customers.

Monitoring program budgets and schedules, reporting status, and forecasting resource needs.

Mentoring engineers, fostering a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing.

Supporting multiple fast paced programs to achieve strategic ATWS objectives.

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering is required.
  • Project lead experience is required.
  • Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer) is required.
  • Experience with developing and interpreting GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 is required.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill is required.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills are required.
  • Secret Clearance required

  • Extensive experience in mechanical design for both development and production phases in aerospace or a similar industry is highly desirable.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable.
  • Multiple programs will be worked concurrently and the ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting priorities is highly desirable.
  • CAM experience/training is highly desirable.
  • Experience with lab and flight integration and test support is desirable.
  • Occasional overtime and travel may be required to satisfy program requirements.
  • Experience on SAR programs/contracts is desirable.
