Nurs-Nurse Anesthesia - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking qualified applicants for full-time, non-tenure stream faculty in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia. We are seeking a doctorally prepared nurse who will assume primary oversight and guidance of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) scholarly projects required for program completion and Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) compliance.

Faculty promotion opportunities are available for all ranks. Qualifications for these appointment stream faculty positions include an earned doctorate (PhD or DNP) and eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania or a compact state. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification is preferred. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications for all ranks: The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) standards. Experience should include advising or overseeing PhD or DNP projects in a graduate nursing or advanced practice program, as well as demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and systems-based leadership.

Assistant Professor – A) An earned doctorate in nursing or a field related to the area of scholarship within the School of Nursing is required. B) Evidence of or potential for a sustained and impactful program of scholarship. C) Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring, and contributing to a learning environment that values evidence-based practice.

Associate Professor – A) An earned doctorate in nursing or a field related to the area of scholarship within the School of Nursing is required. B) Evidence of a sustained and impactful program of scholarship that is nationally recognized. C) Evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring, and contributing to a learning environment that values evidence-based practice. D) Evidence of or potential for leadership in the field.

Professor – A) An earned doctorate in nursing or a field related to the area of scholarship within the School of Nursing is required. B) Evidence of a sustained and impactful program of scholarship that is internationally recognized. C) Evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring, and contributing to a learning environment that values evidence-based practice. D) Evidence of leadership in the field.
