Traveling Journeyman Roofer

We're looking for individuals who are comfortable traveling, have a deep understanding of roofing systems, and value safety, precision, and teamwork. This role includes the installation, repair, and upkeep of a wide range of roofing types. Proficiency with Shingle, Tile, Metal, TPO, and PVC materials is essential. Meeting project deadlines, maintaining safety compliance, and producing quality workmanship are key expectations.

Applicants will undergo a skills test during the interview process to assess their experience with multiple roofing systems (Shingles, Tile, Metal, TPO, PVC, etc.). A personality assessment must also be completed prior to interviews.

We are currently seeking Journeyman-level Roofers with 7–10 years of hands-on experience—entry-level candidates are not being considered at this time.

Entry-level positions start at $22 per hour, with the opportunity for wage increases based on proven skill and job performance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Travel to project locations across California to perform roofing installations and repairs
• Install, service, and maintain various roofing systems, including asphalt shingles, tile, metal, TPO, and PVC
• Consistently install a minimum of 8 squares of shingles daily
• Evaluate roof conditions and execute necessary repairs to maintain structural integrity
• Adhere to company and OSHA safety protocols at all times
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe
• Collaborate effectively with foremen, supervisors, and team members
• Mentor and support junior roofers and apprentices in developing trade skills
• Accurately measure, cut, and fit roofing materials per job specifications
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Inspect completed projects to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Track and manage tools, materials, and supply needs—report shortages or damages promptly
• Must be willing and able to travel frequently for work assignments

Required Qualifications

• Proven Journeyman Roofer experience in one or more roofing types: Shingle, Tile, TPO, Metal, or Commercial Roofing
• In-depth understanding of roofing materials, installation techniques, and safety procedures
• Ability to complete 8–10 squares of shingle installation per day
• Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints, layouts, and technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
• Strong physical endurance and capability to work at heights and in all weather conditions
• Reliable means of transportation for travel between job sites
• Roofing or construction-related certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA 10/30 or equivalent)
