Position Overview:
Washes dishes, pots, small wares and kitchen equipment used by co-workers. Performs cleaning and maintenance tasks as directed by Operations Manager. Maintains order and organization of dept.; restocks cleaning supplies, and paper goods. Stocks foodstuff and dry goods deliveries. Prepares certain foods for use by co-workers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Washes dishes as received from co-workers, keeping area neat, clean and safe, particularly preventing accidents from a wet floor by mopping up in a timely way and placing wet floor signs down
- Cleans assigned areas to maintain safe and sanitary conditions
- Cleans shelves, bins, tables, coolers and floor on a regularly scheduled basis following sanitary procedures
- Follows closing procedures to ensure complete sanitation of area
- Follows prep list as set by Department Supervisor or Manager
- Cleans kitchen equipment as needed and requested by staff
- Before handling food, washes hands thoroughly at the hand sink and dries hands on a single use towel
- Check Co-op email at least once per week
- Set standard for expected behavior in adhering to all food safety procedures
Required Skills/Experience and Attributes:
- Ability to represent the Co-op in a positive manner
- Ability to multi-task
- Set an excellent example for new employees
- Excellent follow through
Attendance Requirements:
Flexible hours, including weekend and evening shifts. Availability to be scheduled to work any day of the week, according to department needs.
