Background:

Take Control Initiative, LLC (TCI) works to remove barriers and increase access to birth control in Tulsa County. We work collaboratively with over 200 community partners, 20+ health center sites, and several state and national organizations. TCI operates at the intersection of health and education with the underlying belief that individuals will make the best decisions for themselves when equipped with information and resources. Our team consists of Education/Outreach, Clinical Services, and Data/Policy departments. We utilize collective impact and grassroots organizing principles, while recognizing that transformational impact requires action at individual, relational, and system levels. Position Summary: The Winter Intern will support the education and outreach (E&O) departments at TCI with various projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Quickly learn and stay up-to-date on the services TCI offers and how to help people access them through the TCI Helpline, effectively supporting callers in accessing resources (Spanish proficiency preferred).
  • Assist with "Just in Case" kit project, including distribution of kits and resources.
  • Support the vending machine project by assisting in restocking and inventory tracking.
  • Participate in community outreach events and activities. 
  • Conduct research to identify opportunities for E&O collaboration. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:

  • Currently a college student working towards completing a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G-Suite.

Hours & Location

  • The part-time internship is expected to run from December 15, 2025, through January 16, 2026.
  • This position is hybrid and expected to work no more than 24 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. -5:00 P.M.). Occasional in-person participation may be required for events, activities, or meetings.
  • The work week will occasionally vary with advance notice, depending on scheduled programming and other events; it may require evening or weekend hours for special events.
