This is a position opening for a teacher of piano in a private studio setting. Prior experience (minimum one year) teaching individual piano lessons is required.

We teach beginners, advanced, children and adults alike. Our youngest students are barely four years old and the oldest are retirees in their golden years. Join the team of talented and distinguished teachers at our long-established and highly reputable music school offering lessons in piano, guitar, violin, cello, voice, flute and saxophone. Teach lessons in a private studio setting to a range of students from beginners to advanced, children to adults. Prepare students for fall and spring recitals and advance them in their skills. The right candidate for this position will be able to start almost immediately and begin building a roster of students in a thriving program.
The Teacher or Substitute Teacher will be an independent contractor providing 30, 45 minute or one hour weekly piano lessons to students. Teacher must be prepared to sub for other teachers during the week (afternoons, evenings, and Saturday 9a-3p) as available and needed) and can expect to start teaching their own students weekday afternoons and Saturdays in particular. The ability to teach other instruments (such as voice) is highly desirable.
AVAILABILITY NEEDED (some combination of these hours will be required to begin):
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, between 3:00 and 7:30 pm
Saturdays between 10am and 2:00 pm
Experience and education: A bachelor's degree with a specialization in piano or equivalent professional and/or performing experience. Proven track record of teaching young, beginning students in the 7 years and older range in particular.
Personal and professional qualities required: mastery of the instrument along with an ability to connect with students of all levels. A passion for and love of teaching is a must. Ability to lead by example and inspire a love of music in students. Willingness to forge collaborations with other teachers to create opportunities for students to combine with others at the school. Must be organized and highly reliable, able to handle a variety of students and levels of age-appropriate instruction for each student.
Appropriate professional attire and grooming, respectful, timely and courteous communications with colleagues, students and parents will be expected.
