A major Japanese logistics company located in Torrance, California is seeking a candidate to take an active role as an Import/Export Coordinator / OTI Holder.



・Manage and oversee import/export operations and customer service
・Supervise all aspects of import/export logistics, including scheduling, quality control, and profitability
・Arrange transportation (ocean, air, and trucking) based on customer requests
・Prepare, review, and submit necessary customs and shipping documents (B/L, invoices, ISF, arrival notices, etc.)
・Track shipments and provide regular progress updates to customers and vendors
・Coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues such as claims, damages, or shipment discrepancies
・Lead and develop the operations team, while continuously improving workflow efficiency
・Create, update, and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and provide staff training
・Prepare departmental budgets, monitor progress, and analyze performance results
・Evaluate employee performance, manage schedules, conduct training, and support career development
・Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and implement improvement measures
・Contract & License Management
・Negotiate and finalize service agreements with VOCC/NVOCC, carriers, and customs brokers
・Review contract terms, conditions, and liabilities; conduct semi-annual performance evaluations
・Maintain FMC-issued OTI license and related bonds
・Register, update, and manage company tariffs and service contracts
・Documentation, Billing & Internal Support
・Issue various shipping documents such as delivery orders, truck B/Ls, and invoices
・Prepare cost estimates and quotations for customers and overseas branches
・Issue and manage billing records promptly and accurately
・Provide logistics support to other branch offices and participate in special projects
・Participate in ISO 9001 quality management activities

・Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
・Must hold an Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) License
・Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or international freight forwarding
・Knowledge of ocean/air freight arrangements, B/L issuance, customs procedures, contracts, and rate filings
・Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
・Experience in team management or departmental leadership
・Broad knowledge of international logistics with the ability to adapt to changing needs
・Strong leadership skills and a passion for mentoring and developing team members
・Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on service quality and long-term relationships
・Responsible, proactive, and able to identify and implement process improvements

Employment Status: Full Time

Position: Import/Export Coordinator / OTI Holder

Language: English

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pmSalary$25+/hour (negotiable)

\*\*Candidates with management experience or extensive practical experience will be offered a salary reflecting their abilities and expertise.
