Senior Building System Technician – JLLWhat this job involves: The Senior Building System Technician plays a critical role in maintaining optimal building performance, safety compliance, and tenant satisfaction across JLL's commercial properties. This position focuses primarily on fire life safety systems while supporting comprehensive mechanical operations through proactive maintenance, emergency response, and regulatory compliance. You'll be instrumental in ensuring continuous building operations while maintaining the highest safety standards that protect both tenants and property assets. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge building technologies and contribute directly to JLL's reputation for excellence in property management.What your day-to-day will look like:Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and fire suppression equipment per NFPA codes and local requirementsDiagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation controls to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiencyExecute preventive maintenance on critical mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, chillers, and boilers while maintaining detailed inspection recordsRespond promptly to fire system alarms, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate effectively with fire safety vendors and regulatory inspectorsComplete work orders efficiently, document all repairs thoroughly, and assist with tenant improvement projects and space modificationsParticipate in emergency response procedures and after-hours on-call rotation to ensure continuous building operations coverageInterface professionally with tenants, contractors, and regulatory officials while maintaining JLL's high standards of customer serviceRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 5+ years of commercial building maintenance experienceDemonstrated fire life safety system experience with working knowledge of NFPA codes and compliance requirementsStrong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting skills with proven problem-solving abilitiesValid driver's license and ability to respond to emergency calls outside normal business hoursExcellent communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionFlexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs requirePhysical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work comfortably at heights, in confined spaces, and with hand/power toolsPreferred Qualifications:Technical degree, trade school certification, or relevant professional certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or fire safety systemsExperience with building automation systems and energy management technologiesPrevious experience in high-rise commercial buildings or multi-tenant propertiesKnowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practicesExperience coordinating with external vendors, contractors, and regulatory agenciesFamiliarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and digital work order platformsLocation: Pennington, NJWork Shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.Salary: $38.71This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
