Electronic Repair Technician
What does a successful Electronic Repair Technician do at Fiserv?
You will join the team at our Chesapeake location to perform difficult and complex technical maintenance duties. You will follow a preventative maintenance schedule for our production machines and electrical/electronic equipment. You will need to ensure the completion of your assigned maintenance work orders with an advanced level of mechanical aptitude and regularly check the progress of your work throughout the facility.
As a valued member of our team, you will be provided opportunities to continue your company paid education with a local area college. You will gain maintenance repair insight with on-the-job training to learn how to troubleshoot and repair over 20 different specialized print production equipment. We provide the tools on-site that you will need to complete the assigned tasks, while ensuring you have the support needed to advance your career with us.
What you will do:
- Perform disassembly, repair, or replacement of parts and/or production equipment.
- Conduct fitting and alignment of mechanical components for proper functioning.
- Utilize troubleshooting techniques to provide temporary and long-term fixes to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and correct maintenance issues on Credit Card Personalization Equipment, Mail Inserters, Cut Sheet Printers, Laser Printers, and Card Affixing equipment.
- Analyze and interpret schematic diagrams for electronic troubleshooting.
What you will need to have:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- 3+ years of progressive maintenance repair and electronic/mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability and willingness to go a local community college to earn degree or certification with our Fiserv tuition reimbursement program.
- Experience using a computer for data entry.
- Experience with using hand tools like drill, screwdriver, and soldering equipment.
What would be great to have:
- Associates degree in Electronic Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent Military training and background.
- 5+ years of production maintenance with electronic repair experience.
- Experience with Bell & Howell Inserters
- Experience with Entrust (formerly DataCard), MX, & DX Embossing equipment.
- Experience with Xerox Cut Sheet Printers.
- Experience with Laser Engraving equipment.
Important info about this role:
- You will work an assigned schedule of: 10:00pm to 6:30am, Sunday-Thursday.
- Eligible to earn shift differential pay for working 3rd shift.
- Flexibility in schedule to work required overtime that includes weekends and holidays.
- You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role.
