What you'll do

  • Operate a tractor-trailer with a focus on safety and compliance with all regulations.
  • Transport refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and other freight types across designated routes.
  • Load and unload cargo efficiently, utilizing forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status and any issues that arise.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on your vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
  • Navigate routes effectively while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.

Basic qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in truck driving, particularly with manual transmission vehicles.
  • Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and freight handling.
  • Strong understanding of route driving principles and delivery driver experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience as an owner-operator or in a similar role.
  • Forklift certification or training in load handling techniques.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
