Job Purpose:
The Manager, IT PMO is a 1st level manager that manages and leads the work of IT project managers and provides oversight for multiple IT projects and programs, primarily consisting of customer-facing SaaS software development and internal IT infrastructure implementation. They lead the IT PMO project management team by developing and implementing project management strategy and methodology; providing oversight and direction on planning and execution of projects; and ensuring business and customer objectives are achieved. They contribute to the accuracy of enterprise planning and budgeting through project plan forecasting, reporting, collaborative cross-functional resource planning, and forecast variance analysis.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee project execution by the IT PMO project management team. Ensure projects are completed on schedule, in accordance with priority, and achieve project goals and objectives while adhering to policy and process. Serve as the focal point for escalations and drive to resolution.
- Develop and retain a highly performing project management team by providing training opportunities, mentorship, coaching, and performance management/review.
- Develop, explain, and ensure team understanding of the project roadmap and both the individual and project contributions to department and enterprise goals and objectives. Apply this understanding when resolving resourcing and other roadmap execution conflicts.
- Implement, manage to, and report on adherence to standards and KPIs. Contribute to the definition of department policy, process, goals, and objectives.
- Provide strategic and tactical support to project managers in executing projects. Review project management artifacts, plans, and deliverables for quality & consistency. Provide coaching where appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with and among IT and business stakeholders to foster collaboration and communication across the organization.
- Ensure project plan alignment across the enterprise. Provide reporting on project status and timelines for projects under management; socialize these with other functional leaders for planning purposes.
- Lead collaborative resource planning with other leaders to ensure the accuracy and achievability of the project timelines, incorporating current and future projects.
- Promote, demonstrate, and support an environment of adaptability, collaboration, and continuous learning that emphasizes partnership with stakeholders throughout all project phases.
- Ensure post-implementation reviews and remediation activities are completed, and learnings incorporated for continuous improvement.
- Apply data-driven statistical methods to report on and improve variances in project timeline forecasts to drive better planning across the enterprise.
- Identify and apply opportunities for automation to reduce manual work effort.
- May be asked to perform the work of those they supervise.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge
- Expert in project management and related artifacts.
- Expert in project management methodologies including agile and waterfall.
- Expert in project management techniques: Gantt, Critical Path, PERT.
- Expert knowledge and experience with the Software Development Lifecycle, related artifacts & deliverables, and the management of software development projects.
- Experience applying variance analysis and other data-driven statistical management and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project Management tools.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 10 years' project team management experience; leading, managing and delivering projects/programs through a variety of strategic and high value project plans, both large and small
- Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors, technical and non-technical staff, at all levels of management internally and externally.
- Must be able to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional Certification
- Experience managing teams for technical products.
- Change Management experience.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
- Occasionally, this position may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
