Asbestos Worker
Summary/Objective
This position involves working with ACM crew members to remove industrial pipe wrap, gaskets, etc. containing asbestos. Have a safety-conscious attitude and be a team player.
This role would primarily be based in Colorado with little to no travel.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Administrative daily duties include but are not limited to:
  • Timecards
  • JSA, Incident Reports
  • Effective daily communication with crew and managers
  • Field duties include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct asbestos abatement procedures following industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Adhere to proper disposal procedures for asbestos-containing materials.
  • Maintain equipment and tools used in asbestos abatement to ensure efficiency and safety
  • Site Safety
  • Ensure proper PPE is worn.
  • Must have a collaborative attitude and willingness to perform any work that requires general labor tasks, including hand auguring, shoveling, lifting, etc.
  • Ensure the job site is secure every night.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to function both in a team and without direct supervision.
  • Communication - written and verbal.
  • Ability to pivot tasks quickly.

Work Environment
This job operates in an outside field environment. While working in a field environment, the employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including snow, and rain. Temperatures may be cool, cold, warm, or hot. This role routinely uses PPE and other safety equipment and will encounter contaminated soil and asbestos.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift field sample products and supplies up to 50 pounds and to bend and stand as necessary. Employees must stand on their feet for 2 to 3 hours at a time, several times a day, and be able to walk short distances.

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
This is a full-time position, and standard hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Workdays' exact start and end times depend on specific job requirements.

Travel
Jobs sites, on average, are 1 hour away from company headquarters.

Required Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess strong communication ability with peers and management.
  • Must be a quick starter.
  • Experience in asbestos abatement
  • Relevant Colorado certifications in asbestos abatement.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in hazardous environments
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Background in construction, restoration, or mold remediation helpful.
  • Removal of Asbestos pipeline
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English)

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if Applicable)
Employee must be authorized to work in the United States and must possess a valid driver's license.
